CULINARY DELIGHTS IN THE WINELANDS
Learn to bake bread in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Ladies and Gents will be given a specially printed apron and recipe book.
Bake 5 types of bread with delicious fillings.
Enjoy a winetasting and cellar tour on the estate whilst breads are baking.

VINTNERS TALE ON HORSEBACK
Meet at Monte Rochelle and take a scenic ride on horseback through the vineyards to Clos Cabriere. Try your hand at sabrage the opening of a champagne bottle with a sabre.
Cross the valley on horseback to Grande Provence for winetasting.
Return to Mont Rochelle for a delicious picnic lunch.

CAPE MALAY EXPERIENCE
A 2 hour walking tour through Bo Kaap. Bo Kaap is a vibrant suburb with a rich cultural history situated on the slopes of Signal Hill.
The Muslim community has had a large influence on the cooking of South Africa. Enjoy lunch at a home in the Bo-Kaap where food preparation tips will be given and served in the traditional way.

CAPE CARE ROUTE
The Cape Care Route showcases projects where impoverished people are caring for the environment and for each other. Some examples include:

Victoria Mxenga & Lilies for peace project. “Women in action”. This project shows what a group of inspirational homeless women have achieved through a joint savings scheme. Learning to build their own homes and cultivate the indigenous Arum Lillie for additional income.

Edith Stephens Wetland Park – This illegal dumping site has been cleaned up by the local community saving a primitive fern unique to the area, a relic from the dinosaur era and very rare.

Self-Help Mannenberg – the community has started cleaning the streets to provide a positive environment to reduce crime.

ARTISTS RAMBLE

We start our tour at one of Cape Town’s leading South African Art Galleries. Michael Stevenson Contemporary. From Contemporary art to functional art, we visit the African Art Factory, a hub of entrepreneurs who have come together to use their skills to create employment and a sustainable business. Wire Coat hangers and old cool drink cans made into children’s toys, lunch boxes & key rings; African inspired ceramics and glassware.

Scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard to the fishing village of Houtbay. Breathtaking Chapman’s Peak drive to Noordhoek Farm Village. This unique place with the charm of an old Cape farm showcases many crafters; the Noordhoek Tack & leather shop, Khoisan crafts, Zimbabaloo, Swazi Candles.

Lunch in Kalk Bay at “Cape to Cuba”. Fusion of Cuban, African and Spanish Cuisine. Explore the Art galleries; Antique and hand crafted clothing stores in Kalk Bay.

SHOPPING EXTRAVAGANZA

Visit the Cape Quarter in the new fashionable district of De Waterkant.

African Gold Museum situated in the Martin Melck House. One of the largest and most beautiful collections of African gold artefacts. (Optional: by arrangement only – learn to craft your own piece of jewellery)

Walk to Greenmarket Square from the museum, well known for its colorful market stalls. Explore the many Interior, Clothing, Arts and Antique stores surrounding Green Market Square.

Lunch at Maestros on the Beach with a postcard view of Table Mountain.

After lunch continue to Canal Walk, one of Africa’s biggest shopping centres.

ECO CRUISE
3 hour cruise out of Table Bay along the West Coast to look for marine life including: Whales, Jackass Penguins, Cape Fur Seals, Basking Sharks, Sun Fish and Dolphins. Fantastic whale sightings between July and August.

SANCOB releases rehabilitated penguins back into the wild on this cruise.

BIRD WATCHING
Hottentots Holland - two/three hour easy mountain walk in search of some of the Cape Mountain Fynbos specials, these include Cape Rockjumper, Victorin's Warbler & Rooi Els. The mountains literally come down to the sea and probably the best opportunity on the trip for Cape Rock Thrush; Visit the Helderberg Nature Reserve, mountain fynbos and riverine bush birds.

Pelagic day. Cape Town is rapidly gaining a reputation as a sea bird capital of the world. A pelagic trip to the continental shelf approximately 25 nautical miles south of Cape Point can yield up to 30 species, depending on the time of year. It is always an exhilarating and rewarding experience.
